Hello everyone!

It’s full summer and the long hot days are making everyone melt away. I know for my part that writing has been a challenge. Between the heat and the lack of rain in the south where I’m currently staying, I’m not getting the results I was hoping for.

My writing is done mostly in the morning but now it’s a daily fight to get out of bed. The days when I win, I hurry and go out to walk before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes unbearable which is usually after 8:30am.

They say in the news that the summer rains should have started a month ago but so far, we’ve had very little rain. The weather man is predicting showers this week and I hope he’s right. After all, this is the rainy season!

Soon school will start and we should cool off some. I’m sure my energy will pick up and I”l get back to my writing. In the meantime, I sit around with my iced tea or my watermelon slices and read short stories and astronomy facts in my National Audubon guide.
