Cami Michaels Sci-Fi Fantasy author    Michaels Photo 3

Cami  Michaels, the eldest of four siblings, was always independent minded and at the age of twelve, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut. The only birthday gift she requested was a telescope and her interest in astronomy has continued until now.

As a teenager, Sci-Fi Fantasy authors, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, and Robert Heinlein were her constant companions. She also had a keen interest in anthropology, psychology, and animal behavior and devoured the works of Konrad Lorenz, Margaret Mead, and Desmond Morris.

In eight grade, Cami Michaels wrote an essay about an alien with a blue tongue called Maashi, who whisks away a young girl under the cover of darkness and shows her the wonders of his world. Now, many years later, after a successful career as a physician and four children, Cami Michaels returns to the fantasy world of her youth and brings to life her first novel, I Am Sheffrou: An Alien Love Story. She plans to add two more novels, Sheffrou Betrayed: The Color of Treason and Claimed by the Shefffrou to complete the Sheffrou Trilogy.

Cami Michaels is passionate about the protection of endangered species and the consequences of climate change for our fauna and flora. She is a proud contributor to the World Wildlife Fund, the Nature Conservancy group, and the Audubon Society.

Born in Montreal, Cami now lives in South Carolina and enjoys reading, traveling, and nature photography. These days, she rides her recumbent tricycle around the neighborhood or works in her bee and butterfly friendly garden.

Cami is a proud member of the South Carolina Writers Association. Her first novel I Am Sheffrou is now available on Amazon. Sheffrou Betrayed will be published March 2022.
